David Vendetti website»Mon 10a; Mon 5:45p; Wed 5:45p; Sun 9:15a; Su-Sa AM Practice [ schedule» ]
Yoga allows me to be who I am without struggle. To notice, breathe, remember and enjoy this body, this moment. I love returning to my yoga mat to play in the body awakening, breathe into a heart wide open and find gratitude for the infinite that I forgot was me. Classes integrate a clear foundation in anatomy with intelligent alignment, hands on adjustments and ever evolving flows to heal the body. Students are encouraged to cultivate a deep passion for self examination, light hearted exploration and drop everything in order to find out that when we hold on to nothing, what is left, is all we truly need.
It has been an incredible gift to have studied and trained in yoga, structural bodywork and meditation. I have been honored to meet and practice with so many talented and amazing teachers whose work I cherish and share now as I teach. Thank you Patricia Walden, Ana Forrest, Tom Myers, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Lynne Begier, David Magone, Andrew Cohen, Bo Forbes, Sundara, Pamela Wilson, Arthur Kilmurray, Sri Louise, Byron Katie and Glenn Black for reflecting the limitless.
David co-owns South Boston Yoga with his partner, Todd Skoglund. David won 2005 Best of Boston Yoga Teacher for Boston magazine and along with Todd was the 2009 Boston Prudential Lulumon Ambassador.

My classes provide foundations in strength, endurance, flexibility and a deeper awareness of the breath. While each class flow is different, in general I focus on intelligent strength building through fun and creative sequencing, longer holds, and arm balancing postures. I encourage transitioning with grace, articulation and control from one posture to the next to develop whole-body core strength, stable alignment, coordination and a greater range of controlled motion. Each class is taught with light-hearted purpose and with great respect for my students' health and safety.
I was introduced to the physical practice of yoga in 2002 with Patabhi Jois' Ashtanga Vinyasa, and have since trained in many different styles with Glenn Black, Ana Forrest, Cameron Shayne, Shandor Remete, David Magone, Manju Jois, Robert Boustany, and a number of other amazing and talented teachers to whom I will always be immensely grateful.
Todd co-owns South Boston Yoga with David Vendetti. Todd and David were the 2009 Boston Lululemon Ambassadors for Yoga.

Amy SullivanTue 12p, Thu 4p, Sun 11a [ schedule» ]
I discovered yoga after sustaining several knee injuries and surgeries (8 to be exact) from being a collegiate level athlete and aspiring professional dancer. Initially, my curiosity of yoga started very superficially by wanting to be physically fit and emulate Madonna, but then turned into this transformative way of life that led to self-discovery that continues to transcend way beyond my yoga mat. My physical practice, the asana aspect of yoga, grounds me and helps me to connect to myself through my body by moving in a more conscious way that encourages awareness, acceptance and integration. My intention as a yoga instructor, is to support my students on their life journey utilizing the poses and principles of yoga as a vehicle for self-discovery, self-acceptance and awareness that encourages a deeper connection to themselves allowing them to, tap into their own inner healer, be expressive and cultivate the practice of nurturing the beautiful beings they already are.
In class, you can expect awakening sequences linking movement with breath, vitalizing arm balances, concise alignment cues, light-hearted humor, free flow and finishing with rejuvenating and restorative poses to shed old skin to make way for new. I received my B.A. in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University and before yoga, I have worked in the fields of music, film, television, dance, restaurant, hotel and academia. As a teacher, I draw inspiration from a variety of life experiences and amazing sources like David Vendetti and my 10 lb mutt, Gracie. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher to teach children from ages 3 to 93.

Dorian RoseTue 4p, Thu 7:30p [ schedule» ]
In 2001 I began studying yoga after being injured in dance. I was drawn by the healing physicality of vinyasa but became enrapt with yoga's transformative power. Aside from physical injury I also endured serial panic attacks and depression and like so many others, I found relief, compassion and joy through my practice.
I teach classes full of both joy and challenge, encouraging and guiding students to go further and deeper to create space and ease in one's body and life. I believe the physical practice can help us strip away our outer shielding, behavior patterns and injuries to find the joy and balance that is our birthright. I am deeply indebted to all of my teachers and students.
With over 800 hours of teacher training I have a 200 hour RYT through Bo Forbes' Elemental Yoga. I have studied in India, completed the Forrest Foundation and Advanced Trainings as well as assisted the 200 hour Body Awakening with David Vendetti. I am currently enrolled in the 500 RYT Body Awakening training with David Vendetti, learning and practicing deep tissue bodywork and in-depth physical understanding to deepen my practice as a yoga therapeutics professional.

Yoga has had a profound transformational effect on my life, helping me create a life nourished by healthy relationships, positive choices, and self respect. I encourage students to smile, laugh, and celebrate their bodies and lives through their yoga practice. Classes offer creative, challenging flows, safe alignment cues, and light-hearted encouragement to be exactly as you are.
I completed my 200 hour teacher training with David Vendetti in 2008, and I'm currently enrolled in The Body Awakening 500 hour training. When I'm not on the mat, you can find me six feet above it - studying and teaching partner acrobatics is a source of endless fun, and I love sharing the sense of freedom and community that comes from working with others to open new doors of possibility.

Jane CargillFri 4pm [ schedule» ]
Jane’s first experience with yoga was in the summer of 2001 at Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. After many years of rigorous physical activity, her body began to speak loudly in the form of bursitis in both hips. She chose to seek an alternative form of exercise; something challenging, yet low impact which would satisfy her craving for movement. She fell in love with yoga that very first day on her mat! What she didn’t anticipate was the new-found freedom through expression and acceptance that is inherent in the yogic process. She continues to nurture that relationship with herself through daily practice, and sharing it with others by teaching.

Georgia ReathTue 10a, Thu 10a[ schedule» ]
Georgia is a certified vinyasa teacher. She was trained at Sonic Yoga in NYC. She began practicing asana in the Ashtanga tradition in 2000 in college when chronic knee injuries prevented her from being able to run and ski. After her first yoga class, she was hooked. Upon moving to NYC in 2002, she began practicing Vinyasa and other traditions including Iyengar, Anusara and Jivamukti. Her teachers include Christine Hoar of Bristol Yoga, Jonathan Fields and Lauren Hanna of Sonic Yoga, Schuyler Grant of Kula Yoga, and Elana Brower of Virayoga. Georgia has also studied with David Life, Sharon Gannon, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Richard Freeman, Ana Forrest, Glenn Black and Desiree Rumbaugh. Her classes integrate her diverse background by focusing on alignment, breath and flow. She has come to understand yoga as a way of life that not only keeps her physically healthy (her knees haven't bothered her since college!) but spiritually and emotionally as well. In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, Georiga is a Columbia University trained mental health counselor.

Katrina SladkyFri 7:30p [ schedule» ]
I came to yoga with a competitive athlete's background and expectations. I was promptly humbled by my first class, yet immediately drawn to the focus on the present and calming environment of the class. I continue to learn and enjoy this physical and emotional adventure, while I apply the "on the mat" skills of attention to breath and staying present to life off of the mat. Yoga has helped me to approach anxiety and depression in a healthy way, as well as given me a repertoire of yoga party tricks to wow my friends and family. I have found my grounding in a variety of yoga styles including vinyasa, Forrest and Ashtanga. With partner yoga and flying I have taken my practice to a whole new level of trust, stability and openness. I offer students a fun, accessible class filled with hands-on assists and lively music.

Roger May websiteMon 7:30p [ schedule» ]
Roger May studies and teaches acrobatics because of his endless fascination with the limitlessness of human potential, and the non-stop fun that comes with stacking people on top of each other. He has worked with many different teachers and styles, both in the US and abroad. Roger is a lighthearted, inspirational teacher who wants his students to explore and play. Roger is adept at turning worlds upside down, literally and figuratively. Roger has no problem at all talking about himself in the 3rd person. Roger is not scared of clowns... Roger might have been lying about that last bit.

Sara KochanowskiMon 7:30p, Wed 12p, Fri 12p [ schedule» ]
A chronic low back injury brought me to yoga, but after one week of "trying" a daily practice, I was permanently hooked. Not only did I begin to heal and strengthen my body, but I found my yoga practice also addressed the needs of my mind and spirit. As I began to see the interrelatedness of my emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical states, my whole world view shifted. From a place of perceived alienation and depression I thought was "reality", I have come to find joy and a sense of being at home in myself and in the world.
Yoga is a journey, not an end destination. Each pose begins with a first step that anyone can do, and each student is challenged to bring their practice a step further. My classes are fun, challenging, and definitely all levels. If you can breathe, you can do yoga!
My yoga classes and my life are deeply indebted to my trainings with David Vendetti in his first Body Awakening Teacher Training, and Ana Forrest in her Foundational Teacher Training. But just as deeply, my practice and classes reflect the love, laughter, and dedication of the broader yoga community. When you come to the studio, you'll see my teachers all around you.

Stephanie RogersWed 4p [ schedule» ]
I love yoga because it gives me a place where I can move and breath and play without worry and without judgement. Yoga is a place where I can play, where my inner child can be my outer child. I love the practice of acrobatic partner yoga because there is a perfect balance of support and surrender. In sharing this practice with others it is my hope that you can explore the boundaries of your abilities to be a foundation or a flier in a fun, safe and supportive enviroment.
