- 7:15 - 8:45 PMFreedom Joy YogaPeterSouth Boston Yoga
FREEDOM JOY YOGAwas created entirely by Peter. This “in-the-dark” yoga dance party takes place weekly on Friday nights. FJY takes the dance music out fo the club and brings it to the yoga studio.

The ”ultimate exercise in letting go,” FJY comprises a sound track of Progressive, Soulful, and Deep House along with Indie Dance music. Over the course of ninety minutes, participants are led through an asana warm-up paired with unconventional methods to release tension and encourage freedom of movement and mind. Culminating in an non-chreographed dance sequence, the first half of the evening sets the tone for the second, an accessible and fun asana practice that can be modified and augmented by the practitioner in the moment, on a whim. There’s even a free-flow sequence or two to practice your favorite moves.

In his earlier years Peter found great joy and personal expression through ecstatic movement and continues to celebrate through dance while encouraging FJ yogis to honor and support the “serious pursuit of fun.” FJY is an opportunity to break the rules, to free up inhibition, and to celebrate self-expression. Practitioners bring the energy and support this communal process.
Even if the notion scares you, welcome an opportunity to bust loose. Join Peter on Fridays at 7pm and shake off a stressful week with Freedom Joy Yoga!
