Class Descriptions

  • All Levels: Hatha/Vinyasa led yoga class. These classes are open to a wide range of practitioners, aimed towards a moderately vigorous level with modifications given for both beginning and more advanced students. The class structure will vary based on the instructor (read their descriptions). Classes may have music.
  • Gentle/Beginners: a relaxing led practice incorporating the foundations of a solid yoga practice. Suitable for beginners, new students, and advanced practitioners looking to complement a more vigorous practice.
  • Open Practice: a space for students to come and develop their own style of practice under the guidance of an instructor. This is not a led class. Open practice is a time where restorative, ashtanga, movement exploration, Forrest, Yin, Vinyasa, Iyengar and Power Yoga can find a place to practice together at your own individual pace. Take this time to create a sequence that strengthens, heals, and awakens your own body. Some yoga experience and a personal practice is helpful, though the instructor is available for guidance and suggestions.
  • Community Class: $5 all-levels class led by a rotating group of recent Body Awakening Teacher Training graduates. Pranayama and Yoga Asana poses will be offered along with alignment adjustments for a safe and challenging practice. See the Teacher Training Graduate page for photos and bios of all the graduates.
  • Lunch Flow: A one-hour class designed to relieve your work day tension and get the circulation moving. This class will start and end exactly on time to accomodate a busy work schedule.
  • Babies +1: Moms, dads, and others in the baby's entourage are welcome to come stretch, play and relax with their baby. This is an interactive class that everyone can enjoy and benefit from. Babies should be at a maximum of toddler age, please.
  • Meditation: time dedicated to serenity and stillness. All levels are welcome.
  • Sound Meditation: this meditation uses sound as a focus. It may be light music, breath, humming, or chanting. This class is guided by an instructor.
  • Pranayama: during pranayama, different breathing patterns will be given to draw in, build, and fill the body with energy.
  • Breathwork: An extraordinary journey of breath and sound. Music with a steady beat is used for inspiration as the body takes in as much as it can, and releases everything it no longer needs.
  • Private Sessions: Some of our teachers offer private sessions. Please contact the teacher directly using our online form. Semi-privates are available as well for one-on-one sessions during the morning open practice.
  • Restorative: Using bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps this soothing class supports a gentle body opening and a calm and meditative mind. Sessions include some breathing exersizes, deep relaxation and a nourishing sequence of supported postures to guide the body to a place of rejuvenation and centering.
